LINDSAY LEWIS "CELEBRITY" PLAYIST
So I was on iTunes and was looking at all the "Juno" celebrity playlist (PS: it's a good movie if you haven't seen it…check out this delightful film.) So I figured you haven't made it till you've had a "iTunes Celebrity Playlist"…So why not get a jumpstart before they ask me. (at least the idea is fun, discuss and breakdown the songs that inspire or mean something extra special to you.)
ENJOY...
*How Deep Is Your Love? –Dru Hill (Rush Hour 1 OST)
Odd choice some may say, but this is one of my favorite tracks. I've loved it since "Rush Hour 1" came out. (this doesn't mean I'm promoting Rush Hour, it means I LOVE the song) This is a song you would drive to late at night, turn up real loud and sing alone in your car.
*Signal Fire – Snow Patrol (Spiderman 3 OST)
This was my favorite song of 2007, even though the movie kinda sucked. The words are powerful if you listen. The moment the chorus kicks in…you feel like running, you feel alive.
*Champagne Supernova –Oasis (What's the Story…Morning Glory?)
This song has meaning, I sung it at my final high school assembly…it was a great moment I didn't want to end.
*Rhythm Divine –Enrique Iglesias (Enrique)
I don't know why but this song makes me HAPPY. There's so much life in this song (it comes alive at the end)…cheesy? Yes.
*Bittersweet Symphony –The Verve
Just play and enjoy, a great song.
*Chasing You Around –Sugar Ray (In pursuit of the leisure)
This song makes me smile, I think about my dog Hooch.
*One Headlight –The Wallflowers (Bringing down the horse)
Man I love this song; it just gets me every time I hear it.
*Fix You –Coldplay (X&Y)
The 2nd half of this song just hits me; I just feel the power of this song.
*Heart –Stars (Heart)
Nice little song I can't help but sing every time I hear it.
*Alive –Edwin (Another spin around the sun)
Listen to this song, makes you think about the good moments to treasure in life.
I would listen to this song before any of my high school plays I would do.
*I'm Your Puppet –James & Bobby Purify
My friend Ian sent me this song; I wish I heard this song 15 ish years ago…because it would be my favorite song.
*Love you till the end –Pogues
This song is just beautiful; sing this song to someone you love.
*Old Habits Die Hard –Mick Jaggar & Dave Stewart
For some reason just stuck with me since I first heard it in 2004.
*That Says It All –Duncan Sheik
I heard this song at the end of the movie "Three to tango" it just worked so well for the emotion the main character was feeling. This song is just very nice nighttime thinking music.
*Cats in the Cradle –Cat Stevens
I didn't really know my dad growing up, but it's not that fact that makes this a great song. The song is just such a simple well-made song…beautifully sad.
*The Commander Thinks aloud –The Long Winters
This song is perfect song to end a show/movie. I have this song in my head when I'm leaving somewhere or something is ending that means something to me.
*The Next Life –Suede (The Chase Soundtrack)
Who would have thought a song in a 90's Charlie Sheen movie would be on this list? This song is so powerful; it makes you think…makes you look back.
*There she Goes –The Boo Radleys (or The La's version)
This song just makes you smile, it's very lovely, it's very romantic. It's short and very much to the point…there she goes.
*Uprising down under –Sam Roberts
Another song my friend Ian Sent me (he has pretty good taste in music) this is probably Sam Roberts most sad song. It's a song that feels ageless, there is a timeless pain in the song that makes it Beautiful. You almost want to put this one on loud and just let go and sing.
*We Will Still Need A Song –Hawksley Workman
Off his great album "Lover/Fighter" this song is great, it's real it's upbeat. You really believe when listening to the song, that the words are true…we will still need a song.
This isn't a bad choice to be that song. Let this song in…feel it…enjoy.
*Wish that I knew what I know now –Rod Stewart
This is one of the best songs I've ever heard, it's bittersweet, but you can't help but smile when listening to it.
*The Sweetest Thing –U2
I enjoy U2's music overall, but this song just always sticks out to me. "Blue eyed boy meets a brown eyed girl…ain't love the sweetest thing?"
So i know my list might be cheesy but keep in mind it's just what's inspired me. That's the great thing about music, any song...on any given day can inspire someone for years to come.
